Their balance and mass distribution allow for <strong>natural swings<\/strong> and stable, quick, and accurate target acquisition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Running Target Shooting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This discipline involves shooting at a <strong>moving target<\/strong>, that crosses a defined space at a set speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>10 m Running Target<\/strong> (air rifle)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>50 m Running Target<\/strong> (.22 rifle)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fun and engaging discipline that requires reactivity, reflexes, and precision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practical Shooting (IPSC)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born from American IPSC, Practical Shooting is a dynamic discipline requiring speed, power, and precision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The objective is to shoot targets within a course in the shortest time possible while maintaining maximum accuracy. This discipline demands great discipline due to the rapid shooting pace and shooter movement, along with excellent coordination for fast drawing and reloading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are three types of stages (short, medium, and long) with both static and moving shooting positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Main federations:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation)<\/strong> : dynamic shooting with pistol, rifle, or shotgun.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association)<\/strong> : more self-defense-oriented.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3-Gun<\/strong> : competitions combining pistol, shotgun, and rifle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Long-Range Precision Shooting (LRPS)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>LRPS<\/strong> is a non-Olympic discipline focused on hitting a target at distances between 300 and over 1,000 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uses large-caliber rifles (.308, 6.5 Creedmoor, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practiced outdoors, accounting for wind, gravity, and mirage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LRPS has gained prestige in the military world, notably with a record lethal shot at 3,540 m made by a Canadian soldier using a McMillan TAC-50<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a discipline requiring self-control, deep knowledge of one\u2019s weapon, and perfect trigger control for a clean release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crossbow Shooting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A hybrid discipline between archery and modern weaponry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are two main types of crossbow shooting: Match and Field. Match Crossbow is closest to the original crossbow style, with distances from 10 to 30 meters, in standing or kneeling positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Field Crossbow is more similar to archery, using strings and arrows, with distances from 10 to 35 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Black Powder Shooting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the <strong>Black powder or antique firearm shooting<\/strong> honors historical firearms (flintlock or percussion) in both technical and historical competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authentic or faithfully reproduced, black powder weapons represent an important chapter of modern history\u2014from the Napoleonic wars to the American frontier and the Civil War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shooting with antique firearms follows a specific ritual: loading from the muzzle with measured powder, wadding, patch, and ball.
